CCAR: Three new “GreenLink Shops”

Oct. 27, 2010

October 27, 2010—The Coordinating Committee for Automotive Repair (CCAR) announced on Wednesday that three more repair facilities are now “GreenLink Shops.”

The new “GreenLink Shops” are:
• Fort Washington Auto Body Inc., Oxon Hill, Md.;
• Portsmouth Auto Body, Portsmouth, N.H.;
• Service King-Kingwood, Kingwood, Texas.

“GreenLink Shop” status is given to collision repair or mechanical service shops that maintain environmental excellence in four categories:
• Business operations;
• Employee training;
• Safety compliance;
• Environmental management.

“The addition of these three shops brings our total to 86 “GreenLink Shops” recognized since the program’s introduction in January 2010,” said Daren Fristoe, CCAR president and COO. “As more and more auto repair facilities incorporate environmental and safety stewardship in their business and marketing plans, we look forward to working with additional facilities in the coming months to promote the green, safe approach in their respective markets.”
