CARSTAR kicks off annual car wash for children in need

June 28, 2012

June 28, 2012—CARSTAR stores across the U.S. and Canada are washing vehicles as a way to raise money for children in need.

The fourth annual “Soaps It Up!” effort has kicked off as thousands of volunteers wash vehicles. The campaign aims to raise money for Make-A-Wish grants in the U.S., and for helping to find a cure for cystic fibrosis in Canada. Tickets are $10, with 100 percent of the funds going to the charities.

So far, the car wash has raised more than $120,000 in both countries, according to a news release_notes. Events are planned through June and July.

“The funds raised by the ‘Soaps It Up!’ car wash program is a tremendous help to us in our effort to grant the wish of every eligible child,” said David Williams, president and chief executive officer of Make-A-Wish America.  “The fourth annual event sponsored by CARSTAR fosters a collaborative community event that collectively helps make the broadest possible range of wishes come true.”

“Over the last three years, the Soaps It Up! Car Wash has been able to unite the CARSTAR family across North America to help thousands of children in need,” said David Byers, CEO of CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts.
