New Autel Scanning Software Available

August 6, 2019—Pre-scan and Post-Scan reports are now available on Autel’s line of MaxiSYS MS908 series tablets.

The pre-scan and post-scan report feature has been integrated into the MaxiSYS interface, incorporating the reports into the diagnostic procedure. Most vehicle manufacturers have issued position statements directing technicians to perform Pre- and Post Scans on all vehicles.

The pre-scan reports allow the technician to create and submit pre-repair diagnostic reports for expedited insurance carrier approval of repair estimates, and to help avoid additional insurance authorizations. Once all repair costs are approved by the insurance company, the technician can create a rather efficient repair plan from the start before any repair work has begun.

In addition to confirming that all pre-repair faults have been resolved, the Post-Scan will detect if additional DTCs have been generated during repair. The post-scan and pre-scan reports are combined in a final report to ensure the customer that the vehicle is safe to drive. Initially, this was available only on the MS906TS.
