Aug. 5, 2019—GEICO has joined the ranks of carriers using telematics to track and improve driving behavior, according to a report by the Insurance Journal.
GEICO has been an insurer without a usage-based insurance program. Now, it is testing a smartphone app called DriveEasy that gives drivers feedback and assigns them a score.
It's on the new CEO, Bill Roberts', watch that GEICO is rolling out its telematics program. DriveEasy is being made available to selected customers this summer for a 6-month trial period, according to GEICO’s website.
