Today's engines are evolving to meet the demands of drivers and new vehicle designs. Today's smaller, more efficient engines typically have tighter tolerances and are required to work harder to provide the same performance as larger, earlier-model engines.
After looking into today's engine designes, Quaker State has developed a lower viscosity motor oil — Quaker State Ultimate Durability Full Synthetic now available in the SAE 0W-20 grade.
Quaker State Ultimate Durability Full Synthetic motor oil offers what the company states is "unsurpassed protection" against friction-related wear in all driving conditions, and is also designed to meet or exceed many OEM specifications for the new Ford, Chrysler and GM models.
“We’re excited to bring Quaker State’s unsurpassed wear protection to the SAE 0W-20 grade for our more fuel-conscious consumers whose vehicle manufacturers recommend this viscosity grade,” says Chris Hayek, Global Brand Manager, Quaker State. “The Quaker State brand has a tremendous heritage of innovation, especially during the last 25 years, and we have always looked for opportunities to push our products to the limits in the name of progress.”
Quaker State Ultimate Durability Full Synthetic motor oil provides improved resistance to engine stress at high RPMs and under heavy loads, and gives superior resistance to thermal and viscosity breakdowns, according to teh company.
“Quality oil selection is especially important to consumers today as they experience severe stop and go driving conditions during their daily driving to and from work. The high heat, high loads, friction and damaging wear they can encounter can take a toll on engines and greatly reduce efficiency, reliability and longevity,” says Jeff Hsu, Quaker State Technology Manager. “When developing Quaker State Ultimate Durability in the SAE 0W-20 grade, we wanted to provide consumers with a reliable and durable motor oil that promotes the fuel efficiency that is needed for today’s more fuel efficient vehicles.”
