Honest-1 Auto Care is renewing its partnership with the American Forests organization to fund the planting of 60,000 trees this year.
The company donated 40,000 trees in 2009, which will result in a total of 100,000 new saplings designated for ecologically sensitive woodlands.
“As the most eco-friendly auto repair and maintenance chain in the nation, it is important for us to extend our commitment to restoring nature’s beauty,” says Jack Keilt, president and CEO. “The owners of all of our shops across the country have agreed that planting trees on behalf of our customers is the perfect way for us to give back to the communities we serve.”
Honest-1 currently has 22 locations and is planning to open 10 more this year.
The centers are geared toward being family friendly with clean and upscale waiting areas, Internet cafes, children’s play areas, comfortable chairs and couches, HDTV and complimentary beverage stations, according to Keilt.
Environmentally oriented practices include strict recycling of auto materials, pollution prevention, resource conservation and trademarked services such as the ECO TuneUp and ECO Oil Change.
The chain is using Green Earth Technologies’ G-OIL Ultimate Biodegradable motor oil, which is made completely of renewable animal fats.
“Each Honest-1 staff member and technician is thoroughly trained to meet company-set standards, which are designed to make the maintenance process less intimidating for non-auto enthusiasts while providing upfront, honest service,” Keilt says.
He notes that the company “is committed to all-around quality customer service unprecedented in the auto repair and maintenance industry.”
The nonprofit American Forests organization works with communities throughout the country in support of local efforts to restore and maintain woodsy ecosystems. The goal is to plant 100 million trees by 2020; 25 million new trees are already in the ground.
