Retailers carrying the Cooper tire lines can anticipate an enhanced media presence as two new advertising agencies have been selected following a national search. MARC USA will handle the ad accounts while The Zimmerman Agency will direct public relations and social media efforts.

“The digital intelligence of the agency is extremely broad and extensive,” says Zimmerman co-President Carrie Englert Zimmerman. “The lines between our public relations team and 30-person digital department are blurring as consumer generated content, editorial tentacles and social marketing have continued to synergize to entice consumer conversations.”

According to Hal Gardner, vice president of marketing for Cooper’s North American Tire Division, the firm “is a premier public relations agency whose creativity, experience and strong track record within public relations and social technology space will be beneficial to supporting the Cooper brand.”

He adds that “they bring tremendous thinking and passion to the table, and their expertise and understanding of consumer public relations and technologies makes for a natural fit.”

Headquartered in Tallahassee, Fla., Zimmerman’s client list includes Aflac, Dell and the PGA Tour.

Founded in 1955 and based in Pittsburgh, MARC USA will provide strategic direction for advertising creative services, media buying and planning along with consumer and dealer campaigns and promotions. The company has accounts with True Value Hardware, Rite Aid Pharmacies and Moen Faucets, among others.

Following an orientation period, MARC and Zimmerman are expected to get rolling with an “immediate impact” on Cooper’s promotional efforts by early next year.
