For the second year in a row, staffers and customers of Ken Towery AutoCare – the largest independent tire retailer in Kentucky with 16 locations serving throughout the Bluegrass State and Southern Indiana – enjoyed a fun weekend of motoring challenges as the Hankook Tire Mobile Marketing rig rolled into the University of Louisville’s stadium parking lot.
Attendees at the ride and drive event, held to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Hospital, were able to get behind the wheel of two Ford Mustangs and experience first-hand the attributes of Hankook’s tires by piloting the pony cars through an autocross-style course.
“Certainly they are having a really good time also; it’s not often that you can put a Mustang through its paces like this,” observes Jason Kim, Hankook’s marketing manager for motorsports and events.
“The main benefit of a program like this is that our dealers and their customers actually get behind the wheel and feel the benefits that a Hankook tire gives them,” he points out.
“Supporting a great Hankook Tire retailer like Ken Towery AutoCare is one of the main purposes of our Mobile Marketing program,” reports Bill Bainbridge, director of brand communications. “We understand that today dealers and customers can use all the decision-making help they can get, and to also raise a little money for charity is a real added benefit.”
Founded in 1971 following Towery’s graduation from the University of Kentucky and a stint as a supervisor at a Firestone store, the enterprise’s service offerings in addition to tire care include brakes, shocks, struts, wheel alignment, batteries, wipers, oil changes and exhaust systems.
