- TIA gearing up for Commercial Tire, Retread & Recycling Conference
Due to the current economic situation and other factors, such as the increased cost of shipping, the Tire Industry Association (TIA) is canceling its Retread Appearance Contest that was set to be held in conjunction with the Feb. 9-11 TIA Commercial Tire & Retread Conference in Orlando, Fla.
The TIA says that while the contest has been eliminated, there are still plenty of informative seminars and ample opportunities for networking and generating sales at the event. The hotel registration deadline is Jan. 16.
Additionally, registration for the conference is still open, and exhibition space is still available for the TIA Pavilion, which is co-located with the American Trucking Association’s (ATA) Technology & Maintenance Council Annual Meeting and Trade Show at Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center.
“This is North America’s largest gathering of fleet maintenance professionals,” says the TIA, “and this combination of organizations provides an opportunity for attendees to meet and interact with buyers in the trucking industry as well as with professionals from the commercial tire, retreading, and tire and rubber recycling industries.” Attendees can expect to hear about issues such as crumb rubber as a revenue stream, minimizing liability and reducing workers’ compensation costs.
