General Tire has decided to extend its “Tire Choice Of…” promotional and advertising program into the New Year.
“We’ve had such positive feedback with the campaign this year that we wanted to keep it going into 2009,” says marketing director Travis Roffler. “Competition in the tire industry is fierce, so these ads are meant to grab consumers and make them take notice of the revitalized General Tire brand.”
As part of this ongoing revitalization strategy, various versions of the ads are tied together with the tagline “The Tire Choice Of…” and are designed “to bring an exciting look and feel to the traditional General Tire brand,” he notes.
Going forward, the series will add to the existing Mermaid and Ninja settings with a new cast of characters targeted to specific market segments, including music aficionados who just couldn’t get enough of the “hair bands” from the 1980s.
As in 2008, the ads will be featured in a wide range of automotive enthusiast and trade publications – both print and electronic – and consumers also will have the opportunity to request posters of their favorites.
