With the November election looming on Tuesday, if you take a break from viewing televised political advertisements and look skyward you may see an overhead Goodyear blimp encouraging everyone to go to the polls on Nov. 4.
“The Goodyear blimp has a long and distinguished history of supporting public service campaigns,” says Ed Ogden, public relations manager for the company’s Akron, Ohio-based Spirit of Goodyear airship. “We wanted to help remind voters it’s time to make their voice heard.”
Non-profit organizational promotions and emergency management messages are frequently displayed on the electronic sign attached to the side of each of the three iconic U.S.-moored Goodyear blimps.
“The message, which reads: ‘Don’t forget to vote on Nov. 4,’ says it all,” Ogden observes. “We think simple and to-the-point are best.”
Blimps in California and Ohio are set to run the message through Tuesday.
