2009 Toyota RAV4 package featuring Bridgestone run flat tires
The 2009 Toyota RAV4 Sport will be available with Bridgestone-brand Dueler™ Run-Flat tires (RFT) as part of the Sport Appearance Package. Buyers will experience the outstanding performance and quiet comfort of the Bridgestone Dueler H/L 400™ RFT in size P235/55R18 99H. The tire – the first-ever RFT application on the RAV4 – has reinforced sidewalls (proprietary Bridgestone Side Support Run-Flat technology) to support the vehicle in case of a loss of air pressure. The highly reinforced structure of the Bridgestone Dueler H/L 400 RFT has been specifically designed to complement the ride and handling characteristics of Toyota’s popular SUV. Bridgestone-brand Run-Flat tires continue to function up to a specified maximum distance at up to a specified maximum speed (50 miles at 50 mph) after a loss of air pressure at 0 PSI. In addition, Run-Flat flat tires eliminate the need for a spare tire. This can reduce vehicle weight and save fuel, as well as reduce rubber consumption. In fact, the new RAV4 Sport with the Sport Appearance Package is without its predecessors’ familiar rear door-affixed spare tire. Presently, 15 other Toyota vehicles come standard with Bridgestone- and/or Firestone-brand tires, including the Avalon, Camry, Camry Solara, Corolla, 4Runner, FJ Cruiser, Highlander, Land Cruiser, Matrix, Prius, Sequoia, Sienna, Tacoma, Tundra and Yaris. The 2009 Toyota RAV4 will arrive at Toyota dealerships in early September. |
