The Coordinating Committee For Automotive Repair (CCAR®) has named Daren Fristoe to its staff as chief marketing officer. In his new position, Fristoe will be responsible for the creation and execution of marketing planning, relationship building and expanding the opportunities for CCAR’s existing and future product and service offerings. He will directly manage the activities of the CCAR marketing staff and report directly to Robert G. Stewart, CCAR president. “I am excited about joining a talented team in the promotion of safety and environmental training and best practices for the automotive industry,” Fristoe says. “CCAR has enjoyed great successes in educating the industry’s workforce and having a positive impact on protecting the environment. Building on these results, we have extraordinary opportunities ahead of us and will continue to explore ways to add value to CCAR’s training offerings.” During his career, Daren has had leadership responsibilities for a variety of professional disciplines, including field services and operations, communication, corporate marketing, human resources, employee relations, training and education, benefits and salary administration, corporate event management and general office management, as well as community service outreach programs. In addition, Fristoe currently serves on a number of local civic and not-for-profit boards. In addition to his responsibilities with CCAR, Fristoe operates a consulting business, The Fristoe Group, which he formed in 2007. Previously, he worked in collision repair franchising, e-commerce procurement, telecommunications, international manufacturing, staffing and property/casualty insurance. Fristoe received his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Missouri-Columbia and his law degree from the University of Tulsa. “We are extremely pleased to have someone with the breadth of background that Daren possesses join us in this important role,” Stewart says. “Daren will play a key role in assuring that our training programs and other services are best-in-class and promoted in the marketplace effectively.” CCAR’s current online offerings include www.sp2.org and www.hazmatu.org.
