Martin Senour will again supply its VORTEX™ waterborne refinish solution to all contestants.

“Martin Senour Paints is committed to supporting the automotive repair technicians and craftsmen and women of tomorrow,” said Jeff Green, Martin Senour National Sales Director.

“The level of hands-on talent and intensity in SkillsUSA, particularly Collision Repair Technology, is incredible,” said Rod Habel, Martin Senour Director of Training. “Many of our training centers and field technical representatives are working with contestants all over the USA to help them understand and become proficient with the latest waterborne technology as they all prepare for this competition”.

Ralph Proemm, Martin Senour Training Specialist, said, “We have found a number of students are reaching out to our training centers for hands-on guidance and materials. We have supported these contestants and helped them improve and perfect their skills; for example, in color match and blending. By increasing their capabilities it will help them in this important national competition - and enhance their future work in the profession.”

Green said, “We are proud to provide the next generation of collision repair professionals with the next generation of products, knowledge and tools they’ll need. This means waterborne solutions that not only lower emissions, but provide solvent borne-like application properties. It means fast drying, no bake, and energy-saving products. Consequently, and unlike past Skills USA Competitions, these future collision industry leaders will have a chance to work with our VORTEX waterborne refinish system, which provides excellent color match while ensuring up to a 96 percent reduction in VOC emissions.”

SkillsUSA programs include local, state and national competitions in which students demonstrate occupational and leadership skills. At the annual national-level SkillsUSA Championships, more than 5,600 students compete in 94 occupational and leadership skill areas, which include collision repair technology.

SkillsUSA, formerly known as Vocational Industrial Clubs of America, aims to foster its members into responsible and knowledgeable members of the United States skilled workforce. The organization proves quality education opportunities in leadership, teamwork, citizenship, and character development. SkillsUSA is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and is cited as a "successful model of employer-driven youth development training program" by the U.S. Department of Labor.
