The tools, equipment, supplies and other items that the school obtained through the grant will be on display. The event will include presentations from school administration and Collision Repair Education Foundation staff, meet and greet with students, tours of the facility and a breakfast prepared by the school’s culinary department.

The goal of the Ultimate Collision Education Makeover program is to honor a school that has been doing an outstanding job in educating students in collision repair, but is in need of financial assistance to improve their program's teaching materials and equipment. As the winning school in 2011, Applied Technology Center was able to select $50,000 in supplies, tools, and equipment needed specifically for their collision program, thereby making a difference in the education of the students studying collision repair. In the end, through the additional generosity of the collision industry, Applied Technology Center ended up receiving over $60,000 in products, which is more than the original budget of the grant.

The Collision Repair Education Foundation would like to officially recognize the following industry companies who supported the 2011 Ultimate Collision Education Makeover grant program and provided donations to both/either Applied Technology Center and the other Makeover applicant schools: 1-800-Radiator & A/C; 3M; Airgas; ALLDATA; A.N. Designs/UltraWiz; Anest Iwata; Assured Performance Network; Atlas Copco; Audatex, a Solera Company; AutoZone; BASF; Chicago Pneumatic; Chilton Auto Body; Collision Services; Crocketts Premier Auto Body; CTA Manufacturing; DuPont Performance Coatings; Fix Auto; GearWrench Hand Tools; Haldon Co.; Hobart Welding Products; I-CAR; Ingersoll Rand; Innovative Tools & Technologies; Matco Tools; MCR Safety; Mechanix Wear, Inc.; Miller Electric Mfg. Co.; Morgan Manufacturing; Motor Guard Corporation; Oakland Auto Body; Panasonic; Power Probe; ProMotor Car; Rust-Oleum Corporation; SAS Safety; SATA; Sherwin Williams; Steck Manufacturing, Co.; Sunex Tools; and Time Shaver Tools Inc.

Collision Repair Education Foundation Board of Trustees Chairman Chris Northup said, “It is a rewarding moment for the industry to recognize Applied Technology Center, the recipient of the 2011 Ultimate Collision Education Makeover grant. The Collision Education Repair Foundation is thankful for the industry’s willingness to participate with our Makeover grant program and to give to those who need our collective help.
