Each year during the month of April, vehicle check-up events are conducted across the nation by independent repair shops and auto parts stores, as well as vocational schools, for National Car Care Month. Now, organizations offering such services can register their 2008 vehicle check-up events on the Car Care Council's Web site, says Rich White, executive director of the council. "The National Car Care Month event locator is very popular with motorists who visit the Car Care Council Web site," White adds. "With more than 155,000 visitors each month, our Web site is the 'go to' place to find vehicle check-up events throughout the country." To help organizations conduct vehicle check-up events, the council has created tools to enhance their efforts, including a 'how to' DVD/CD and the one-of-its-kind Car Care Guide. In addition, visitors to the industry section of the council's site will find "Be Car Care Aware" point-of-sale starter kits and a virtual store of fashionable apparel and premium items available for purchase. "Major distributors to small, independent service shops have realized how the 'Be Car Care Aware' campaign, and more specifically, National Car Care Month, can help build their businesses," says White. The Car Care Council is the source of information for the "Be Car Care Aware" consumer education campaign promoting the benefits of regular vehicle care, maintenance and repair to consumers.
