The Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance, Inc. has extended its commitment to the Charity Cars Campaign through 2998 to rerach a new donation target of 1,000 vehicles for victims escaping domestic abuse. The organization set the new goal during a recent shareholder's meeting in Boca Raton, Fla. "Our commitment to giving away 1,000 vehicles to needy families has never been stronger,"says Steve Marks, senior vice president of marketing/advertising. "Our expanded goal is well within reach and within the realm of becoming a reality no matter how long it takes." This one of a kind Charity Cars Campaign was announced along with the scope of the program by Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper at a press conference held during industry week 2006. The nationwide campaign's mission is to help former victims of domestic violence gain their independence with a gift of a refurbished car. This unprecedented vehicle gift program is sponsored by the warehouses, parts stores and certified service centers of Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper. Each group in the distribution channel plays their own pivotal role in this program. Certified service centers donate their labor; the warehouses and parts stores furnish the replacement parts. The last component of the distribution channel is a select group of vendor partners. The Alliance is currently soliciting new vendors to compliment the 15 already on board for the unparalleled donation program. The entire group of Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper shareholders, along with hundreds of parts stores and certified service centers, has allied with The Original 1-800-Charity Cars organization, a non-profit charity, to execute this program. By the end of 2007, almost 500 vehicles will have been awarded to qualified recipients at grand award ceremonies across North America.
