Bar’s Products, manufacturer of Bar’s Leaks and Rislone, has expanded its efforts to interact directly with its customers and fans around the world through various social media channels. Bar’s Products now is active on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, and it also writes and produces a blog meant for longer-form news, media and opinion.

“We truly enjoy talking and interacting with our customers," says explains Carrie Mermuys, executive vice president. "For years we’ve met them at races, chatted with them on our customer support hotline and have received hundreds of product testimonials via mail and e-mail. Social media is exciting because it gives us the opportunity to have regular conversations and build relationships with a much larger group of people whom we might otherwise never meet. It makes a brand human, and that’s been something we’ve held as a value for decades.”

The self-described “car nerds” of Bar’s Products use the social media forums primarily to talk cars: cool cars, fast cars, classic cars, new cars and race cars. Occasionally, they even mention a Bar’s Leaks or Rislone product that can help someone solve a problem. Many of the racing teams the company sponsors post new photos and race results to the Facebook page. Classic drag-racing videos are available on the Bar’s Products YouTube channel.
