Redline Detection has introduced the “Lights Out” service light reset solutions guide for Mercedes Benz for the global automotive aftermarket. The Lights Out guide provides automotive technicians with step-by-step directions to quickly and easily reset the maintenance alert on nearly every Mercedes Benz model on the market today.

“Redline Detection created this tool based on an overwhelming demand among garage owners and technicians for a practical, effective and comprehensive guide to resetting the troublesome computerized service lights on Mercedes Benz vehicles after service has been completed,” says Zachary Parker, president of Redline Detection. “Garage owners are eager to have the ability to quickly and easily reset the maintenance alert light on nearly every Mercedes Benz. The Lights Out guide makes it possible for them to complete this task in less than 60 seconds. The feedback we have received has been tremendous with more than 2,000 pre-orders for the tool already confirmed.”

The Lights Out service light reset solutions guide is practical, portable, durable and contains detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to reset the service light alert on more than 99 percent of all Mercedes Benz model vehicles, the company states.

This tool covers 12 years of technology used by Mercedes Benz on its vehicles. The complete guide consists of two volumes, each covering six years of Mercedes Benz technology. Each volume can be purchased individually or as a complete set, covering nearly all Mercedes Benz vehicles produced from 1998 through 2009.

“Luxury vehicles such as the Mercedes Benz do not typically come equipped with the information necessary to reset the maintenance light,” says Steve Rorick, owner of MB Elite Mercedes Benz Service & Repair and Master Technician. “Every year, the systems on these vehicles become more complex and require multiple steps to reset the maintenance alerts. These computerized maintenance alert warnings often block other important information from the driver of the vehicle, which is very frustrating for customers if they are not reset.”

“As opposed to the Lights Out guide, the factory SDS scan tool costs more than $10,000,” adds Rorick. “There is no other tool available that is as complete, cost effective and user-friendly as Redline Detection’s Lights Out guide to provide solutions to Mercedes Benz maintenance alerts. Garage owners know if they are unable to reset the service light after performing maintenance on a Mercedes Benz vehicle, they may never see that customer again. Now technicians can quickly reset the lights on all these luxury vehicles, maintaining customer satisfaction and helping to grow business by building a reputation for providing complete and competent service.”

The Lights Out guide was developed based on years of hands-on experience and research conducted by Rorick and his team of technicians. The product was repeatedly tested on non-automotive professionals to ensure the ease and clarity of the instructions.

“This product is going to allow all garages to perform Mercedes Benz service,” notes Redline’s Zachary Parker. “We have created a tool that can increase business without forcing garage owners to spend unnecessary dollars on factory scan tools. The Lights Out guide is easy to understand and is available to any technician seeking to provide their clients with the best results. We look forward to introducing this tool to meet a significant need in the market. Redline Detection is also in the process of expanding the guide to include additional vehicle makes and models.”
