TOYOTA: 2005-09 Tacoma

SUBJECT: MIL illumination with P0705 indicates a malfunction in the Transmission Range Sensor (TRS) circuit. Other symptoms include delayed and/or harsh engagement when shifting into Drive or Reverse. The bulletin notes that several vehicles have experienced this problem as a result of water intrusion into the TRS circuit wiring harness at the main wiring junction block. The bulletin includes diagnostic information to test the sensor, color photos showing water intrusion/damage and complete instructions for sealing the wiring harness connector.

FORD: 2005-08 Escape/Mariner Hybrid

SUBJECT: MIL illumination and/or P0A81 or P0A96 indicate a malfunction in the battery pack cooling fan circuit. The bulletin states these codes don't usually set the MIL and are often found when diagnosing other drivability concerns. The repair is to replace both cooling fans, which are mounted inside the High Voltage Traction Battery (HVTB) assembly. There are no repair instructions in the bulletin, but they are included with the cooling fan kit, Part No. 5M6Z10C659-A.

TOYOTA: 2001-03 Prius

SUBJECT: MIL illumination with P3101, P3190 and/or P3191 indicates low engine power due to throttle body malfunction, which may be impossible to detect under normal driving conditions with a hybrid powertrain. Not all vehicles are included in this bulletin, which includes a list of affected VINs. It also includes illustrations and instructions for removing and cleaning the throttle body.

SCION: 2008-09 xD

SUBJECT: No-start or extended cranking with MIL illumination and P0300 through P0304 or P0015 might be caused by faulty PCM calibration. The bulletin includes a list of updated calibration codes and reprogramming instructions. The bulletin also specifies adding special Toyota EFI additive to the fuel tank as part of the reprogramming procedure.

MAZDA: 2008-09 Mazda3 with automatic transmission

SUBJECT: MIL illumination with P0128 indicates engine cooling system thermostat is stuck open. The symptom is most likely during stop-and-go driving with the heater on and the blower on high immediately after a cold start. The malfunction is likely false. The bulletin includes no repair or diagnostic instructions other than to remove and test the thermostat's opening temperature. If no problem is found, reprogram the PCM using one of the six calibration file numbers listed in the bulletin.

HONDA AND ACURA: various models from 2001 forward

SUBJECT: A recall has been issued to replace airbag inflators that may generate excessive pressure during airbag deployment. The excess pressure can cause the inflator casing to rupture, scattering shrapnel, which could cause serious or fatal injuries. The recall has been modified and expanded several times over the past months to include more vehicles. The bulletins include a list of affected VINs, airbag inflator kit part numbers and instructions for installing the kits.

NISSAN: 2005-07 Pathfinder

SUBJECT: MIL illumination with codes P0442, P0448, P0455, P0456 and/or P1446 indicates a problem with the EVAP system. The problem might be caused by a failed or stuck vent control solenoid valve. A service kit is available to repair this problem. The bulletin includes part numbers, illustrations and instructions for installing the kit.

Bulletin NTB07-060a

NISSAN: 2005-08 Frontier, Xterra, Pathfinder

SUBJECT: Erratic fuel gauge readings and/or MIL illumination with P0461, P0462 or P0463 might be caused by a faulty fuel level sensor. Not all vehicles are included. The bulletin includes a list of affected VINs plus part numbers, illustrations and instructions for testing and installing the fuel gauge sensor.

Bulletin NTB07-069a

VOLKSWAGEN: 2006-07, all models with 2.0L FSI (BPY) engine

SUBJECT: MIL illumination and/or code P0601 indicates an internal control module memory fault. This code is false and should be erased. Not all control modules are included in this bulletin. The bulletin includes a list of affected control module part numbers and instructions for reprogramming them to eliminate the malfunction.
