Tire Technology seminars taught by expert instructors from Standards Testing Laboratories (STL) are set for Oct. 13-15 at the company’s Massillon, Ohio headquarters near the Akron-Canton airport.
The registration deadline is Sept.25; the classes, which are limited to 25 attendees, are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
The seminars provide an overview of tire terminology, technology and the raw materials involved in the making of a tire, as well as the design, applications, compounding, construction and manufacturing processes.
A brief history of tire industry milestones, a current market summary, tire stamping and identification requirements, legislative activity and a tour of all aspects of tire testing are also included during the two-and-a-half day educational program.
STL compiles a technical team of automotive and tire experts to provide a basic yet comprehensive overview of the technology involved in the tire business. The classes are designed to appeal to anyone directly or indirectly involved in the industry who needs a general understanding of tire design, construction and performance.
The fee is $975. It includes admission to the seminar, all materials, three luncheons, an evening banquet and refreshments throughout the course. A block of rooms has been reserved at a local hotel. Discounts are available for three or more from one company registering together.
