Love’s Travel Stops has opened a new truck tire service center in Memphis, Tenn. “We look forward to expanding even more in the coming days,” says company President Frank Love, referring to additional debut locations in Magnolia, Miss. and Lake Havasu, Ariz.

Founded in 1964 by Tom Love and based in Oklahoma City, the Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores enterprise remains family owned and operated. From its first filling station in Watonga, Okla., the business has grown to more than 220 locations covering 35 states. The company adds about 15 new locations per year and is currently ranked 25th on Forbes magazine’s annual listing of America’s largest privately held companies.

“Love’s has earned a reputation of excellence in delivering much needed products and services for the over-the-road customers,” says Guy Pekle, vice president of replacement sales at Michelin Americas Truck Tires.

Love’s has opened 25 new sites after signing a merchandising agreement with Michelin a year ago.

“Since we began offering Michelin tires, emergency roadside assistance and on-site tire care service at our travel stops last year, the response from customers has been very positive,” Frank Love reports. “Our customers are discovering this new service while taking advantage of the value and convenience we provide,” he adds, echoing the company slogan: “Clean Places, Friendly Faces.”

Love’s has provided more than 6,000 hours of training for its certified truck tire care employees. It provides on-site truck tire care service along several major highway corridors, including Interstate 20 (Shreveport, La. to Abilene, Texas), I-40 (Memphis, Tenn. to Tucumcari, N.M.) and I-35 (Tonkawa, Okla. to Ardmore Okla.).

The company also caters to auto travelers with food services and a selection of merchandise along with welcoming recreational vehicles through a series of discount programs, dumping stations and ample parking for overnight stays.

Prospective vendors are welcome to send samples for consideration, according to Love. “We are growing at a rapid pace and are continually looking for new and innovative merchandise to keep our product mix fresh.” Successful submissions must carry a scannable barcode.
