Mike Cleary is gearing up for two automotive training classes in Phoenix this spring.

Cleary, with Automotive Technical Support Services, will teach two training classes on systems from module installation to restraint systems to remote keyless entry. The classes are May 19 and 20 from 6-10 p.m. each night.

Topics covered include:
• Module reprogramming and programmable module installation
• Recovering from a failed reflash
• Computer controlled (“Smart Charge”) systems
• Electronic returnless fuel systems
• Case studies in Mode 6 and electronic throttle control
• Restraint system diagnostics using SRS fault reporting pids
• Remote keyless entry and anti-theft systems
• Kirchoff’s laws of electricity and how they apply to electronics troubleshooting

Cleary is an eight time award winning Ford Motor Company Certified Senior Master Technician and Powerstroke Engine Specialist. He has served on two separate Ford Technician Advisory Boards, and was recognized by Ford Motor Company for his contributions to Ford as a field technician involved in improving the 6.0L Powerstroke Engine Program.

He is an ASE Certified Master Technician in both the Automobile and Heavy Truck categories, as well as being L1 and L2 Certified. He is also certified by the state of California as an Advanced Emission Specialist Technician. He currently owns his own shop, Cleary Automotive, specializing in high tech driveability and electronics repairs on Ford vehicle systems.
