The Universal Technical Institute (UTI) Foundation recently announced that Phillips Industries has provided nearly $250,000 in electrical connectors to advance hands-on training for students seeking technical degrees at all 10 campuses of Universal Technical Institute, Inc.
UTI is a provider of technical education for individuals pursuing careers as professional automotive, collision repair, diesel, marine or motorcycle technicians.
“Phillips Industries understands the significant value of quality technical education programs,” says Bob Phillips, president and CEO for Phillips Industries. “We build products that make a difference in the automotive, diesel and small truck, motorcycle and marine industries and are very pleased to enhance UTI’s excellent classroom experience with the latest in electrical equipment.”
“The electrical connectors donated by Phillips Industries will help expand the valuable hands-on electronic training students receive as part of the technical education they need to pursue successful careers,” says Veronica Meury, vice president and executive director of UTI Foundation.
The U.S. Department of Labor forecasts that the number of automotive technicians will grow 14 percent to more than 883,000 by 2016. The UTI Foundation works with donors like Phillips Industries to help UTI students receive the best technical education possible.
