Shops already conquering the canyon through Remy promotion

More than a month remains in the “Conquer the Canyon” promotion from Remy International, Inc., and leading service shops across the U.S. are giving Remy high marks for the company’s original equipment-quality alternators and starters.

Remy has awarded 15 state-of-the-art iPod Touch personal audio/video players to early entrants in the four-month promotion. The grand prize — a brand new 2008 GMC Canyon 4WD extended-cab truck — will be awarded in October to one lucky technician, service writer or shop owner who documents at least five qualifying Remy alternator and/or starter installations between June 1 and Sept. 30, 2008.

“We’ve had great success with Remy products,” says Don Goetz, service writer and shop foreman for Advanced Mobile Fleet Services, Cincinnati. “We use Remy for all of the postal vehicles we repair and our other fleet customers. Their reman units last as long as any new parts we’ve ever tried.”

Wayne Kolp, president of Xpertech Car Care in Delray Beach, Fla., said the “Conquer the Canyon” promotion is a great reward to shops that already use Remy products and a powerful incentive for others to make the switch to original equipment-quality units from Remy International. “I heard about the promotion through our distributor and then heard a couple of weeks ago that I had won an iPod Touch,” he says. “We’ve been using Remy for the past couple of years.
