THE STATE of Florida Division of Consumer Services reportedly is seeking compliance with the "letter of the law" with the state's auto repair shops, according to the Motorist Assurance Program (MAP).

The state is seeking RO forms, their format, full completion and the text – even if they had been approved before or have been in constant use for a long time. Members are being required to re-do all of their RO and other forms almost immediately, MAP is reporting.

MAP shares that, for example, the date and time of the estimate must be written along with the date when vehicle is to be ready, and possibly the time as well.

A list of requirements is available online, and a sample form is available at www.800helpfla.com/pdfs/repair_ei.pdf.
