Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire Rolls Out 2008 “Classroom Behind The Wheel” Drive & Learn Program Teammates and Dealers in 15 Markets Learn About New Bridgestone Tires Launched this Year
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 7, 2008) – What do ultra-high-performance tires, the BMW 328is, engineers and classroom education have in common? They are all vital elements in the Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire (BFNT) “Classroom Behind the Wheel” Drive & Learn program. The unique program, this year presented in 15 cities across the nation, educates tire dealers and company teammates about the attributes of BFNT’s 2008 tire offerings and technologies via on-the-course instruction and in-depth classroom learning. BFNT’s “Classroom Behind the Wheel” Drive & Learn tour will leave its tracks in the following cities in 2008: Dallas April 10, 11 Houston April 17, 18 Los Angeles May 8, 9 Phoenix May 15, 16 New York/New Jersey May 29, 30 Washington, D.C. TBD Orlando Oct. TBD “Our dealers and retail selling teammates tell us that hands-on education is the best way for them to learn about the latest tire technology. This hands-on educational opportunity gives them something they can learn firsthand and later relate to their customers,” said Phil Pacsi, Vice President North American Consumer Tire Marketing, BFNT. “These events provide in-depth information that gives teammates a sense of ownership of the product and gives them insight that ultimately benefits their customers.” During each Drive & Learn event, BFNT teammates and dealers will experience the ultra-high performance capabilities of the Bridgestone Potenza™ RE760 Sport™ on BMW 328is and the Bridgestone Potenza™ G019™ Grid on Volkswagen GTIs. Vehicles will be driven in wet and dry track conditions. At the event participants will not only evaluate the performance of the tires on the course, but they will also engage in interactive education with top BFNT engineers back in the classroom. The “Classroom Behind the Wheel” Drive & Learn program wraps up back on the track with the fast-paced LeMans team competition that pushes the new tire technology to its limits and gives event participants the chance to compete with each other. “By providing our dealers and teammates with solid information about these new tires, we’re giving them the confidence and the knowledge to help consumers make the most appropriate tire purchase for their vehicle and their driving style,” said Pacsi.
