Spam-proof Your Productivity
Proofpoint Inc., a provider of unified e-mail security and data loss prevention solutions, has reported an increase in spam, which disrupts work productivity. For 2007, the Proofpoint Spam Index hovered near 90 percent, meaning that nine out of 10 e-mail messages delivered to large enterprises were spam – whether it was image-based spam, PDF spam, MP3 spam or Microsoft Word document spam. "We continue to see spammers rapidly changing their mix of spam types, and it was interesting to see the use of attachment-based spam drop significantly after surging in November," says Rami Habal, director of product marketing for Proofpoint.
For those looking to manage spam efficiently, there are a number of companies that provide secure software that can detect and also intuitively learn what you consider to be spam.
