SAN RAMON, CA (June 29, 2007) - Chevron's Lubricants University, an educational Web site for service professionals, recently launched "Passenger Car Engine Lubrication" as part of its online training course portfolio. The new course addresses gasoline engine lubrication performance issues, provides an overview of commercial gasoline engine lubricants and offers a summary of lubricant performance specifications.
The training module also offers a comparison of gasoline and diesel engines, including a brief history of the internal combustion engine. Individuals taking the course will better understand the role lubrication plays in achieving efficient gasoline engine operation and extended life.
"As gasoline engine technologies become more complex, it becomes increasingly important for technicians to undergo regular training on key areas of reliability, including lubrication," says Virginia Moser, training coordinator, Chevron North America Lubricants. "For fleet maintenance managers and individuals interested in increasing their lubrication knowledge, Lubricants University offers a cost-effective solution."
Lubricants University offers self-study, Web-based programs designed to help technicians, plant maintenance personnel and lubricant salespeople better understand the connection between lubrication and equipment reliability. All Lubricants University courses offer a certificate of completion once a student has successfully completed the training. Courses are available to the public and cost $59.95 each.
