GASTONIA, NC - As part of the brand's extensive NASCAR involvement and ongoing support of the
Victory Junction Gang
Camp, WIX Filters will sponsor the third annual Motor Mania Car Show on Oct. 7, 2006, in Mooresville, NC.
The event offers area automobile enthusiasts the opportunity to display their vehicles and compete for awards, including the WIX Filters Award for "Best of Show." The WIX Hummer H2 also will appear at the show.
Presented by radio station 103.7 WSOC, the Motor Mania Car Show will be held at 206 N. Broad St. in downtown Mooresville. Vehicle registration fees are $20 through Sept. 30 and $25 from Oct. 1 through the day of the show. Proceeds from the event, which runs from 10 a.m. through 3 p.m., will benefit the Victory Junction Gang Camp for seriously ill children.
WIX's commitment to the Victory Junction Gang Camp began in 2005 with a donation of a year's supply of WIX oil, air and fuel filters. This year, WIX Filters will donate $75,000 to the camp through sales of the latest offering in the Route WIX Die Cast Collectible Promotion, a 1/24-scale replica of the 1969 Talladega Torino Ford that racing legend Richard Petty drove to his 100th NASCAR victory.
Founded by NASCAR driver Kyle Petty and his wife Pattie, in honor of their late son Adam, the Victory Junction Gang Camp is free of charge to seriously ill children and their families. Located in Randleman, NC, on land donated by Richard Petty and his wife Lynda, the camp is the only year-round, multi-disease facility of its kind in the Carolinas and Virginia.
