Volvo Prototype Runs on Five Fuels
TECHNOLOGY FOCUSVolvo Prototype Runs on Five Fuels IRVINE, CA - With all the talk of alternative fuels and rising gasoline and diesel pump prices, one automaker has introduced a new vehicle that runs on a number of fuels. As part of its aim at finding different ways to sustainable mobility, Volvo Car Corp. introduced the Multi-Fuel prototype car at the Michelin Challenge Bibendum 2006, held last June in France. The Multi-Fuel is optimized for running on five different fuel types; hythane, a blend of 10 percent hydrogen and 90 percent methane; biomethane; compressed natural gas (CNG); bioethanol E85; and gasoline.
