LANSDALE, PA (June 22, 2006) - CARQUEST and the Mobile Air Conditioning Society (MACS) Worldwide have teamed up to find the best mobile air conditioning (A/C) and heat transfer service technician in the United States and Canada.
Technicians who are certified in refrigerant recycling and recovery can register online at
www.carquest.com/macs. Technicians who wish to compete must register by July 20, 2006. Participants will complete a series of written and hands-on skill assessments to test their mobile A/C and heat transfer service knowledge. Contest rules and restrictions also are available at the
Web site.
The grand-prize winner will receive a Panasonic 42-inch plasma HDTV, a Panasonic 1000W home theater system and the opportunity to wave the green flag as a co-grand marshal at the CARQUEST 300 in Charlotte, NC on May 26, 2007.
The first-prize runner-up will receive a Canon PowerShot 6-megapixel digital camera and a Canon PIXMA photo printer. The second-prize winner will receive a Delphi XM MyFi satellite radio unit with a car and home stereo kit and a year's subscription to XM Satellite Radio.
The winner of this technical skills competition will be announced at the MACS Worldwide 27th annual convention and trade show, which will be held Feb. 1 through 3, 2007 in Phoenix, AZ.
