GOOD DEEDSThe NASCAR Foundation Launches Vehicle Donation Program CHARLOTTE, NC (April 3, 2006) - To NASCAR fans, the phrase "Start your engines!" sets their hearts racing. This week, the organization hopes to reach out to fans in a new and meaningful way: The NASCAR Foundation's Vehicle Donation Program, launched in conjunction with National Car Care Awareness Month, is looking for fans that are doing some "spring cleaning" in their garages.

Spring kicks off Car Care Awareness Month, and this new program is designed to take the hassle out of deciding what to do with the unwanted or unneeded cars, trucks and RVs. The donations are tax-deductible and, the donation process can be completed online at the Foundation's special Web page

Donations will benefit The NASCAR Foundation, which supports more than 25 driver, track and industry charities. NASCAR says any vehicle is suitable for donation: racecar, collectible or just the family car that costs too much to repair.

The program got a little help from friends at the NASCAR Crew Chief Club, too. Club members Tommy Baldwin, crew chief for Elliott Sadler's No. 38 Ford; Matt Borland, crew chief for Ryan Newman's No. 12 Dodge; Jimmy Elledge, crew chief for Casey Mears' No. 41 Dodge; and Greg Zipadelli, crew chief for Tony Stewart's No. 20 Chevrolet are all lending their expertise, knowledge and support to the program.

The Crew Chief Club provides fans with a new way to interact with their favorite race teams and creates recognition and fan support for their fellow crewmembers. Their involvement in the Vehicle Donation Program complements the fan support and participation of these programs to make them successful, says NASCAR.

"This is our inaugural year for the Vehicle Donation Program, and we are really fortunate to have the Crew Chief Club on board as supporters of this initiative," said Sandy Marshall, executive director of The NASCAR Foundation. "Our alliance with the Crew Chief Club was a natural fit for this venture. Their hard work and dedication to the sport makes them ideal spokespeople for our Vehicle Donation Program."

NASCAR launched The NASCAR Foundation in January 2006. The Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit entity supports a number of charitable initiatives that "reflect the core values of the entire NASCAR Family."
