Richard Perry, manager of training and insurance
relations for
Chief
Automotive Technologies, will cover the basics
of design based repair in
Collision
Hub’s live educational video series, Repair
University, which will air at 1 p.m. July 14 on
www.CollisionHub.com.
Perry was the lead developer of Chief University’s
new two-day “Design Based Repair” course. He will
draw on this knowledge and his more than 30 years
of industry experience to provide Repair
University participants with an overview of design
based repair. He will cover why shops can no
longer rely on visual inspection, why it’s
important to measure a collision-damaged vehicle
and the value of multipoint measuring during
repairs.
“What was once a simple misalignment may not be an
obvious repair on modern cars,” Perry explains.
“The growing use by vehicle manufacturers of
advanced materials and sophisticated designs
results in collision damage being transmitted to
areas that previously would have been unaffected
in a similar accident. Technicians and estimators
who haven’t been trained to look for this damage
can easily miss it, resulting in supplements and
longer repair cycle times.”
“Collision Hub is thrilled to have the opportunity
to provide free training on design based repair
from Chief, the company that coined the term,”
Felder says. “Technicians, shop owners,
estimators, appraisers and others in the collision
repair industry will walk away from this session
with a better understanding of changing vehicle
design and its impact on how we repair vehicles
today.”
To attend the Repair University training course,
register free online.
Registered participants will have the opportunity
to ask questions online and have them answered
live during the segment.
