Deborah Craig, an environmental scientist with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 2 Office, will be the featured speaker at the Collision Industry Conference (CIC) meeting March 17 in Meadowlands, N.J. CIC will be held in conjunction with the Northeast Tradeshow.

"The CIC Governmental committee is grateful to Ms. Craig and the EPA for providing this important and timely presentation on the NESHAP (National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants) 6H rule to CIC and the many industry stakeholders and repairers that will be in attendance," stated CIC Governmental Committee Co-Chairman Stephen Regan.

"Even with a March 11, 2011 final deadline for compliance there is still some confusion in the industry on the 6H Rule, and Ms. Craig's presentation is designed to ensure all repairers and others in the industry have accurate and official information as we enter into the phase of compliance and oversight," added Regan.

"Delivering relevant topics and speakers to our industry is what CIC does best," stated Michael Quinn of 911 Collision Centers and current CIC Chairman. "We are also looking forward to meetings on topics of significant interest to all industry stakeholders."

The July CIC meeting in Salt Lake City, alongside the I-CAR Industry Event, will have an education theme titled: Meeting The Future Training Needs Of Our Industry. The November meeting in Las Vegas will be themed Advanced Vehicle Technology and Reparability - Coming To A Shop Near You.

The November meeting will also feature a forum on industry repair standards. The CIC Repair Standards Advisory Committee will deliver its Business Case for the development of the independent standards body proposed at the July 2010 CIC meeting. The committee is also planning to deliver a panel discussion, titled Living with a Standard, that will include presentations from individuals across industry segments from the United Kingdom who will discuss the Repair Standard in the UK.
