I-CAR President and CEO John Edelen said the organization
benefitted from exhibiting at NACE and SEMA this year and
has budgeted to return to both shows next year. I-CAR has
been a long time NACE exhibitor and participant, but this
was the first time it exhibited at SEMA.
During SEMA, Edelen, speaking at a press conference Nov. 4,
said I-CAR reached a broad audience within the industry with
its TechPro World Tour, which included a full line up of
various live welding demonstrations. In addition, several
collision repair training opportunities, including the
premiere of I-CAR's newest course, Vehicle Technology and
Trends 2011 (NEW11) were offered. I-CAR offered 12
instructor-led classes, including several of its newest
courses, during SEMA.
"As a not-for-profit training organization, I-CAR is
committed to providing the most current collision repair
training that meet industry needs," Edelen says. "The
ability to reach the audience at SEMA is a powerful way to
share the latest information on today's vehicle repair
procedures with an audience who is in tune with today's
ever-changing automotive designs and trends. Meeting with
attendees at the SEMA Show and discussing what to expect
next for the collision repair industry allows I-CAR to
deliver on its vision."
I-CAR director Tom Moreland said the search to replace
Edelen, who announced his intent to retire earlier this
year, is on track and the organization should have a new
leader in December.
