I-CAR will offer SEMA attendees a chance to win an online training option that will enable industry members to meet compliance with the NESHAP 6H Final Rule. Throughout the SEMA Show, I-CAR will have a drawing for a chance to win training in the I‑CAR Hazardous Airborne Pollutant Reduction (HAP01) online course. Attendees who stop by the I-CAR booth (#10819) can have their badge swiped to enter the drawing.

The EPA requires all collision repair facilities to comply with NESHAP 6H Final Rule by January, 2011. Any technician that applies atomized coatings is required, under this rule, to be trained on hazardous airborne pollutant reduction. I-CAR’s Hazardous Airborne Pollutant Reduction (HAP01) online course will help refinish technicians or managers understand the steps required for hands-on self certification and grasp the importance of the EPA NESHAP 6H Final Rule.

Jason Bartanen, I-CAR Technical Director said, “Having up- to-date information on how to properly reduce hazardous material usage will benefit those working in the inter- industry both economically and environmentally.”

Bartanen continued, “The ability to reach key members of the industry at the SEMA Show with this practical online option will enable them to meet the mandatory compliance and enhance their understanding of how to protect the environment while minimizing material usage.”

I-CAR’s Hazardous Airborne Pollutant Reduction (HAP01) online course will help students:

  • Comply with EPA regulations
  • Understand how to improve transfer efficiency
  • Identify ways to reduce the amount of hazardous liquid and solid waste that is generated during the refinishing and equipment cleaning processes
  • Provide a method for a trainer, supervisor, or manager to implement an in-house training program that is in compliance with EPA regulations
  • Explain how to extend the longevity of spray booth filters through more efficient processes
I-CAR looks forward to being a part of SEMA’s Technical Education offerings at this year’s show and reaching the broad audience that attends.
