Three students won the CCC Michael Salvatore Memorial Student Repair Technician Scholarship, which was renamed in 2007 to honor longtime CCC Information Services team member Michael Salvatore. Winners were announced by CCC and the I-CAR Education Foundation.
The scholarships go to students currently enrolled at a NATEF-certified school or an Industry Training Alliance school that is currently using the CCC Estimating System. The scholarship funds are available to the winning students to pay back tuition costs that accumulated during their education. Each student will receive a scholarship award of $5,000.
The 2010 winners include: Michael Allen Cornelison (UTI, Houston); Ryan Kelley (Fox Valley Technical College, Appleton, Wis.); and Nicholas David Roueche (Bridgerland Applied Technology College, Logan, Utah).
"I-CAR Education Foundation is fulfilling a critical role for both students and collision repairers," said CCC's Automotive Services Group Vice President Joseph Allen. "Students from across the country continue to benefit through the Education Foundation’s annual scholarships and getting the latest technology into the hands of tomorrow's technician. We are pleased to continue our support of the Scholarship program."
"This is the fourth year that the I-CAR Education Foundation has worked together with CCC Information Services, Inc. to provide this student scholarship," noted I-CAR Education Foundation Executive Director Scott Kruger. "We are impressed with the accomplishments of the scholarship recipients and they should take pride in this recognition. Thanks to CCC Information Services for their continued support of assisting the future professionals of our industry."
