Norcross, Ga. – AkzoNobel Car Refinishes Americas and Automotive Body Repair News (ABRN) magazine have opened registration for an industry wide webinar, The Principles of Downdraft Technology, to be webcast on May 5, 2009.  The focus of the webinar will be waterborne technology with a fresh perspective on the correct drying processes for these finishes.

Featured speaker for the program will be Rick Farnan. Farnan is a fifteen year veteran of the collision repair industry and Facility Design Manager for AkzoNobel. In addition to Farnan, the webinar will include perspectives from Tim Sramcik, Editor-in-Chief of ABRN; Tim Loden, Director of Marketing for AkzoNobel; and Kenny Barker, Regional Manager for Caliber Collision, one of the first multi-shop operations in the U.S. to adopt waterborne technology.

“I think this will be an eye opening message for anyone who chooses to participate,” said Tim Loden Director of Marketing for AkzoNobel Vehicle Refinishes Americas.  “At AkzoNobel we understand that the best paint finish is achieved when all parts of the process are working correctly. The Principles of Downdraft Technology is just one example of how our own customers have benefited from our focus on process centered environments.  Once attendees to this program hear this information they will understand, as our customers did, why we are referring to this concept as the 800 lb. gorilla in the paint booth.”

Sramcik elaborated, “ABRN prides itself on delivering the most up to date and complete technical information available to collision repairers. This is a terrific opportunity to deliver that information to the industry in a lively format where they can get answers on this critical issue.”

Registration for the webinar will run through April.  Interested individuals can sign up at here.
