NORCROSS, Ga. – Classic Chevrolet of Grapevine, Texas, selected AkzoNobel’s Sikkens Autowave waterborne paint system for all of the dealership’s collision repair centers in the greater Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) metro area.
Classic Chevrolet said it is the nation’s No. 1 volume Chevrolet dealer, a distinction held now for three consecutive years. Classic Chevrolet is owned by Tom Durant who owns seven other dealerships in the DFW area. Durant has also recently opened two new Chevrolet dealerships in Tampa, Florida and in Sugar Land, Texas.
“It seems like a natural pairing, the world’s largest coatings company and the nation’s largest volume producer,” notes AB Ghosh general manager of AkzoNobel Car Refinishes Americas. “An operation like Classic Chevrolet doesn’t just happen. They got to where they are today by making a lot of smart decisions that delighted their customers and kept them coming back.”
David Osburn, director of collision repair for the Classic group, says, “We compared their waterborne solution against three other suppliers for about 18 months. AkzoNobel and Autowave were superior all the way around. It took one day of spraying for our painters to be convinced. Not only were the products superior but they are able to help us manage our numbers and our business, which was the icing on the cake.”
