PITTSBURGH – PPG Industries has launched PROSTARSAutoCare.com, a one-stop-shop that it says enables car owners to actively obtain price quotes and service for damaged auto glass without phone calls or searching multiple Web sites, and allows consumers to easily search among glass shop retailers in their area based on safety, cost, qualifications, satisfaction ratings, and more.

"PROSTARSAutoCare.com is an online, searchable database for car owners who are looking to repair or replace their auto glass," says Fahmy Mechael, manager of Business Integration & Development. "We want to give visitors to our site the opportunity to fully understand what kind of service they are paying for."

Users enter their zip code, vehicle information, and type and location of the glass damage. The participating repair shops in the designated area will then be displayed to the user. They can choose up to three shops and immediately receive price quotes from the selected shops. Once the car owner determines the shop that best meets their needs, they can schedule a service appointment online.

More than 1,300 auto glass professionals are currently registered as part of a nationwide network of glass shop retailers through the site, and in addition to providing price quotes and scheduling service, it also features a number of automotive resources including: car safety tips, live chat with customer service representatives and frequently asked questions.

"PPG Industries has been designing, improving, and manufacturing glass for more than 100 years. At PROSTARSAutoCare.com, we have built upon expertise for providing the customer with education, information and quality assurance toward their purchase," says Glenn Davis, director of Business Development for PPG Auto Glass.
