NORCROSS, Ga. — Akzo Nobel has issued a final call for grant submittals for the Collision Industry Advancement Initiative (CIAI) spring 2008 review period. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, March 12th, 2008.

“It is so essential to make this investment in the many good people of the automotive repair industry and Akzo Nobel is to be commended for making all of this possible,” says CIAI Council Chairperson Eileen Sottile. “I encourage those who are interested in applying for a grant to submit their request before the deadline of March 12th.”

The CIAI program was established in 2004 as a tool for aiding in the growth, advancement and perception of the collision industry in North America. So far, the program has given out more than $200,000 in industry endowments. The funding has been used to help various organizations and individuals throughout North America. It has been used to help fund everything from state-of-the-art remodeling projects to sprayguns.

“It is vital to the future of our industry to help others get a ‘leg-up’ and to succeed,” Sottile says. “The Akzo Nobel CIAI Committee is pleased to be on this mission of making a difference by awarding grants to those who are deserving of this wonderful opportunity to move the industry ahead.”

The Advisory Council reviews grant requests twice a year. To apply, contact the Collision Repair Industry Advancement Foundation through the Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes Web site, www.AkzoNobelCarRefinishes.net.
