Norcross, Ga. — Representatives of Akzo Nobel will teach four classes during the International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE) in Las Vegas Nov. 1-4. The classes include: New Refinish Technology (Nov. 1, 8:30 a.m.); Finding, Hiring, Developing (Nov. 1, 1:30 p.m.); Performance Management (Nov. 1, 3:30 p.m.); Putting the Horse Before the Cart (Nov. 3, 4:00 p.m.). The New Refinish Technology class taught by Alan Craighead will help attendees understand how new technologies in refinishing can impact their business. The class will discuss UV curing technology and waterborne paints. Legislative developments and associated equipment will also be discussed. Finding, Hiring and Developing will be taught by Mathew Ohrnstein. This class will discuss the important issue of finding qualified people for multiple store operators. Profile of successful store managers, recruiting techniques, training and development plans will be shared. The class will also teach how to evaluate and grow competent store managers. Performance Management is one of the toughest challenges facing collision shops and Richard Fifer will help attendees identify preferred coaching styles, discuss a step-by-step process for coaching in the three standard coaching situations and the need to coach both good and poor performers. Putting the Horse Before the Cart is an in-depth look at employee satisfaction taught by Larry Elmore who will discuss the factors that create job satisfaction and how it impacts customer satisfaction. Class participants will complete an employee satisfaction index (ESI) self-assessment. The self-assessment will help attendees compare their ESI to others in the industry. |
