Revisions to repair manual: Door Glass Adjustments
Door glass adjustment procedures for the 1997-2002 Diamante were updated in January. The new wind noise and water leak repair procedures, outlined in TSB-02-42A-001, should replace the originals.

The following is a summary of the remedy to front door glass problems. Note: Do not make any of these adjustments until you have confirmed that the settings are incorrect.

With the glass up fully and the engine running, remove the door trim, waterproof film and belt line molding. Loosen both top regulator attaching nuts.

Check and adjust the door glass stabilizer settings, checking that the adjusting screw is held while tightening the lock nut. Tighten the regulator attaching nuts and reinstall the belt line molding.

Loosen the mounting bolts and nuts for the up stops, delta sash, carrier plate and regulator bottom.

Note: Mark the bolt and nut positions before loosening so they can be put back into their original positions if needed. All checks and adjustments should be made with the engine running, so that power is getting to the power window motors.

With the window up and the door closed, hold the door glass with both hands and push the glass toward the glass catch to get the glass positioned according to specification in the glass catch and the B-pillar glass margin.

If the specs are achieved, push the up stops to the glass stops and tighten (with door still closed). Tighten the carrier plate bolts and then open the door and tighten the regulator bottom bolts.

Check soft touch, and if needed, adjust the lower regulator mounting studs and retighten. Recheck the intrusion, soft touch and glass margin. If needed, adjust the glass intrusion by moving the up stops. Adjust soft touch by the lower regulator mounting studs.

CAUTION: To avoid rattles and thread damage, make sure that the adjustment stud and/or bolt has at least 11
