CAWA awards 25 scholarships

Aug. 17, 2011 — The California/Nevada/Arizona Automotive Wholesalers’ Association recently awarded 25 scholarships to students for the 2011–2012 school year.

The nonprofit trade organization, which represents jobbers, warehouse distributors, retailers, manufacturers and manufacturers’ representatives, says the scholarship program has improved year after year.

“Not only did we increase the amount of funds this year, but we also increased the number of scholarships to 25 students representing all three states; an accomplishment that we are very proud of,” said Julie Snyder, director of operations for the CAWA.

The CAWA’s top candidate, Chambers Watkins-Blackshear from Miramar College in San Diego, received the organization’s prestigious Mort Schwartz Award for his outstanding goals and achievements.

Scholarship applications are submitted through automotivescholarships.com. The application process will begin again Sept. 1.
