March 15, 2012—Chrysler Group’s Mopar brand on Wednesday announced the launch of its new Chrysler Recognized Certified Collision Repair Facility program.

Chrysler Group said the program will allow dealers and independent body shops to meet the necessary qualifications in order to be recognized as an official Chrysler collision repair facility for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Fiat and Ram vehicles.

The new certification program will use the collision repair facility certification services recently developed by the Assured Performance Network, according to Chrysler Group. The program consists of more than 40 key business standards, including the following:

•  Maintaining I-CAR Gold Class Professional shop status
•  Utilizing squeeze type resistance spot-welding equipment
•  Utilizing Chrysler-approved refinish materials that have been tested to rigorous standards
•  Utilizing structural straightening equipment to perform three-dimensional measurements

Chrysler Group said shops participating in the program will also be required to use Chrysler-approved repair procedures and parts. When repairs are fully completed with OE collision repair parts, a Write Certificate of Authenticity will be created for the customer’s records. In addition, an update will be made to the CARFAX vehicle report proving that OE parts were used for the repair, and that a Chrysler Recognized Certified Collision Repair Facility completed the repairs. That documentation helps preserve the post-collision value of vehicles, according to Chrysler Group.

“We announced earlier this year that Mopar would be changing the entire ownership experience of our vehicles, and this program is another important step forward,” said Tony Brenders, vice president of technical service operations for Chrysler Group’s Mopar brand. “Working with Assured Performance Network, we will not only expand our repair capabilities across the U.S., we will also ensure that the work performed will be to the highest level of quality.”

Enrollment for the Chrysler Recognized Certified Collision Repair Facility program, which will officially launch March 26, is now open nationwide. To register for the program, or for more information, visit ChryslerCertifiedShop.com.
