Subaru achieves IIHS Top Safety Pick for all vehicle models

Dec. 16, 2011

Dec. 16, 2011—The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) on Thursday recognized Subaru of America Inc. as the only auto manufacturer that has earned a 2012 Top Safety Pick for all vehicle models.

Subaru of America Inc. said this is the third consecutive year the company has received that recognition.

"Subaru once again has a Top Safety Pick winner for all models," said Adrian Lund, president of the IIHS. "It's tough to win, and we commend auto manufacturers for making safety a top priority."

The IIHS’ Top Safety Pick recognizes vehicles that do the best job of protecting people in front, side, rear and rollover crashes. Vehicles must be equipped with electronic stability control (ESC) to be chosen as a Top Safety Pick.

"Our customers take their safety very seriously and so we are very pleased that IIHS has recognized us again with a Top Safety Pick winner for all our qualifying models," said Tom Doll, executive vice president and chief operations officer of Subaru of America Inc. "The IIHS reinforces to our customers that Subaru maintains the highest standards to produce vehicles that are fun to drive, durable, reliable as well as safe."
