CREF appoints chairman emeritus to board of trustees

April 10, 2012

April 10, 2012—The Collision Repair Education Foundation (CREF) recently appointed Chris Evans, claim consultant for State Farm Insurance Co., as chairman emeritus on its board of trustees in recognition of his service to the organization.

As chairman emeritus, the CREF said Evans will provide ongoing counsel and expertise to its board of trustees.

To be eligible for this particular appointment, individuals must have completed a full term as chairman of the CREF, and have made significant contributions to the organization through time, effort or monetary donations. The CREF said Evans served as chairman of its board of trustees from 2008 through 2010. He also played a vital role in transitioning the CREF into its philanthropic role within the collision repair industry.

In addition, the CREF said Evans has more than 25 years of collision industry experience, is active with SkillsUSA, serves on I-CAR’s board of directors, and is a committee co-chairman for the Collision Industry Conference (CIC).

“Chris’s service to the Foundation has been remarkable in every way,” said Doug Webb, immediate past chairman of the CREF’s board of trustees. “As chairman during 2008 and 2009, he assumed full responsibility for the migration of the Foundation. The fact that the Collision Repair Education Foundation now stands alone, and is a full philanthropic 501(c)(3), is testimony of Chris’s skill. Not only did it take great leadership skills, but it also took tremendous interpersonal skills and Chris was more than up to the task.”
