Body shop worker killed in welding accident

An auto body shop employee in Edmonton, Alberta, was killed and another worker was badly hurt during a welding accident inside the 4 Wheel Collision and Frame Shop Feb. 25.

An auto body shop employee in Edmonton, Alberta, was killed and another worker was badly hurt during a welding accident inside the 4 Wheel Collision and Frame Shop Feb. 25.

The two men were welding a rim to repair a flat tire on a dump truck when the tire exploded, according to a spokesperson with Occupational Health and Safety.

The dead man, 53, was an employee of the business, while the 54-year-old man who was injured is the owner.
