July 30, 2013—Hertz reported a second quarter revenue of $2.7 billion Monday, a company record that amounts to a year-over-year increase of 22 percent.
Worldwide car rental revenues for the quarter increased 23.3 percent from the second quarter last year. And second quarter 2013 adjusted pre-tax income was $314.5 million, increasing 34.5 percent from 2012’s second quarter numbers.
"Our eighth consecutive quarter of record adjusted pre-tax income was driven in part by double-digit revenue growth in four businesses: U.S. off-airport car rental, leisure car rental, HERC and Donlen,” said Mark P. Frissora, chairman and chief executive officer of Hertz.
